Pastor David Scruggs Jr

A passionate speaker and an inspirational spiritual guide, Pastor David Scruggs Jr plays a vital role in God’s plan for Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Prior to his pastorship, David served under the leadership and mentorship of Pastor Ron W. Parham at the Edmondson Chapel Church. 

Rev. David Scruggs Jr accepted his Calling into the Ministry in April 2006 and preached his first sermon on March 30, 2008 and was licensed by the late great Reverend Richard D. Hunt at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church.  

Continuing to press towards the mark, Rev. Scruggs was ordained at Tabernacle by Pastor Darin G. Freeman Sr. on March 13, 2016.

Having a desire and passion for learning, David matriculated at Belmont and Liberty University, obtaining both a Bachelor of Science in Ministry and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies.  

Pastor Scruggs has been married to the lovely Dorothy Scruggs since October 8, 2010 and this union has been blessed with two amazing children, Trey & London Scruggs.  

The Bible says in Romans 10:14-15 “how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” David has an anointing and passion for preaching the Gospel and continues in his efforts to minister to the needs of God’s people.
